Meet Melissa Welsh
Melissa understands rural life, growing up on farming property in the WA Midwest.
A childhood of hot, dusty summers followed up by winters of lush crops wavering in the breeze. Of raising orphan lambs, and of taking long bus rides home from school.
Really. Long. Bus rides.
Her childhood was filled with creativity - drawing, sketching, painting. The lot.
In high school she studied art, spending any spare time in the art rooms. After completing her schooling she decided to follow her other passion, studying agriculture at Curtin University.
Melissa completed a degree in Agribusiness management and marketing, which was followed by a successful career in agronomic research and development, project management and communication.
Today, you’ll find her still in the Wheatbelt, raising her family in the beautiful community of York.
Melissa found her love of interiors and styling, through the process of renovating her first home with husband, David. Whilst still working in agriculture and juggling a family, she helped out friends and family on building and renovation projects. Here, Melissa quickly found herself diving into the world of interior design and developing her expertise.
Undertaking their first build is where the love really kicked in. She led the charge, immersing herself in all areas of the project, from managing tradespeople, to the selection of all finishes for the home, and putting together the final details that create that wow factor.
Melissa Welsh Style & Design was launched in 2017 specialising in servicing the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. Drawing inspiration from the people, landscape and sense of togetherness that embodies rural life, Melissa designs practical, stylish interiors that suit your individual lifestyles.
